Whoa! Did you google and price it now? I'll bet it's more now, if you can even find one.

Looks like there's an upgrade available for the 200e that might make it more friendly to work with; not sure of the upgrade cost. Be happy yours came with the walking foot!

Jill, according to the technician who serviced my machine, the upgrade for the 200
is no longer available. And I'm learning that all the Bernina parts are mega expensive!!

My large hoop arrived yesterday and I think I'll be ready to start practicing on the
machine as soon as I take the class the end of this month. I don't want to do anything to mess up the machine.

That's fine, newest isn't always best, sometimes it's just more complicated than need be.

I don't know about that, Jill, but I'll surely be the least experienced! I am going
to try to play with the machine using the tutorial that came with it. Surely I can
do something basic.

When you are ready to play, there is a site called Juju that has lots of patterns. I just got a bunch at just $1.20 each and there are several in each one. Hoping the sale comes back soon.

Oh, and I learned Monday night at quilt guild about the embroidery library site.
Haven't checked it out yet because I've been busy, but will do so soon. I have
bought my USB memory stick just for my designs, though!

You know i never get to see because I hate being alone & the machine is downstairs so I'd be by myself down there. I need to bring it up.

And for some of us, sewing is for time to be alone! Hilarious! But I do enjoy quilting in the dining room with David close by. But in our small house, it's pretty much near each other from any room.

I love my "quiet time" on my sewing machine, although when something goes
wrong, the atmosphere can get pretty noisy and blue with profanity of the "Damn
it" variety! Have to be very careful when Alexis is with me.

Toni, by all means bring that machine upstairs where you can have access to
it. You'll be pleasantly surprised, I think.

Last night I didn't feel like cutting and sewing so I took some time and sorted the 3" blocks Mary Alice had cut. She had cut so many different sizes but 3" was the most. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference between the 3" and 3.5", 4", 4.5" etc especially because these were NOT cut with a rotarty cutter and I'm thinking her eyesight or steady hands were going. No matter, they can all be trimmed or just sewn straight. There were so many different kinds of fabric I had to take off the tall stacks of solids or anything that there were many of and put in the crates to have room to spread out the ones with just a few. When I crate these I was going to do by color (as I tried to sort them) BUT I am going to pick out the ones I really like and put the not so favorite ones in another crate. I mean, no telling if I'll ever get them all used up anyway so I may as well use the fabrics I really like first. I was hoping the gal at WW would bring the pattern her mom has for a block purse/tote but she forgot it. I could go online and look, just haven't had time.

So, after I crate these, and I have more crates of different sizes, the most part of the organizing will be done! I needed to do this to soothe my soul. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Thumb of 2019-05-15/ArleneB/275375

I like my sewing area "hidden away". I tend to get into my zone and let the world go away. Not that I am truly alone, it's a main traffic area plus in the "L" the kids have their games & TV. But I can pretend.

I guess it's because I was by myself in my office for 6-8 hours every day for years that I hate being by myself. And the last 2 years, boss wouldn't even let me have the overhead radio on for background noise. So silence was the rule... complete silence except for the sound of my keyboard clicking. That way I wouldn't miss a phone call, so he claimed. Uh, I had a headset that would literally ring in my right ear... I'm NOT going to not hear that!!

*sigh*

But to each their own! :) Maybe when I get out of school I'll bring my sewing machine into the office so I can use it in there. I'm hoping that once I get the (blanketyblankblank) door installed, I can get my craft room back (right now it's basically storage of everything I had to take out of John's office).
