Go for it, Susan, and good luck! I have several projects to finish: the throw pillow for Alexis's bed to match her quilt. Now that I have found a fabric to round out the front of it, I need to get that finished. I have to find and purchase fabric for DH's quilt of valor and I very much intend to start on a quilt for myself. PLUS I want to try that jelly roll race thing. Whew!

I have a Lone Star quilt that I started in my 20's, my cousin "fixed" it in 2007, and now....... I have all the materials to finish it THIS YEAR
I also have 2 Round Robin quilts that I should finish - one is a fabric painted/embroidered center, and the other is a butterfly one. Not to mention one that's still "on the road" - my God's Eye quilt center. Sure doesn't have to rush back to me, cuz I have other "irons on the fire" to finish first Rolling on the floor laughing
Oh, and lest we forget - a "Sistahs of the Heart" lap quilt....... have all the blocks done, except for two that I have to border the blocks of, so I can trim each section & put it together.
PLUS, for the quilt I got that my Mom & I worked on & I got back last month...... I have leftover material from it, and intend on making 2 pillow covers to match....... Whistling

I guess all of us quilters have more projects planned or in process than we intended, but isn't it fun? Much like having plenty of books on hand to read. At least I know I can always spend whatever spare time sewing or reading!

My granddaughter has been working on QOVs with me. This is her first, quilt she has made all by herself. She's in TN so we will be able to work together more easily once we get down there too. This is just the top, not quilted as yet.

How nice your DGD is carrying on your tradition! It will be fun to work together with her. She did a nice job on this one too. Is this the granddaughter where the long arm is waiting for you? Will she try to use it on this quilt?

Great job by GD, Karen. You must be so proud! What fun it will be to quilt together once you get relocated.

She has already played with the quilter and there is a friend who will help her. She's braver than I am. I expect she will do a quilt before I do.

So you'll have a teacher! How lovely. I'll be glad when Alexis takes more interest in sewing so we can do projects together. I'm hoping she'll help me with DH's QOV.

Arlene: It occurred to me that you don't have nearly enough on your plate to keep you busy Rolling my eyes. and I am wondering if we need to add a new quilt gallery here as well. Of course, Karen, Pat, and Magga can continue to add to their galleries (I guess), but it would be nice to have others begin posting photos of quilts that are made. If this is too much to ask, I understand, and you might want to inquire what others would like as well. I may be a voice crying in the wilderness!! Rolling on the floor laughing

I don't think it would be a problem adding a quilt gallery here. I'm brain dead today but seems like Sharon set up something so we could make our own thread (subject) but I can't remember how it was set up. Vic?

I now have 2 of the carpenter's wheel blocks made for DD's quilt. Only 2 more to go and I can start with sashing. I'm probably going to butt the blocks together rather than sash between them.

Butting the blocks together will give you another secondary pattern. Waiting to see it finished.

I'm working on a T-shirt quilt for Destination Imagination. It will be raffled at the state meet and the money goes into the scholarship fund. This will probably be the last year I make them one. I've been making them for many years as long as one of my grandsons was involved. The oldest has resigned after being on the state board for several years.

Next will be yet another T-shirt quilt for great grandson's band uniform fund drive. I've requested one of the old jackets to include in the quilt. The old uniforms are 17 years old and will be sold to any student who wants one for a souvineer. The band has had to raise $63000. in the past year and are on their last $5000. They did get some nice corporate grants but all worked very hard to make this happen.

I agree with what Arlene said, Karen. That is a lot of money raised. What a wonderful thing.

I'll see what the blocks look like butted together and whether I like the secondary pattern that emerges. This is why I was debating adding some sashing, but I think in this case a secondary pattern will be amazing.

So if we're going to have a quilt gallery here, I'll add the one I made for Alexis. The pattern is called "Fanciful Flowers" from Quilter's Cache (of course). I also made the pillow cases to match and am still working on that throw pillow. Ye gads!
