Karen, what a heart-warming expression of gratitude. I think you should
send this to QOV National or International and ask them to post it on their
web site. It should be shared.
Thank you for the many quilts you have made for our veterans. I'm sure
there are others who feel similarly and never got around to writing that
message. Bless you, Karen.

This note is actually a common one from the Viet Nam Veterans. I confess I wasn't too socially conscious back then. I was busy raising 4 kids. Once I started with QOV, my heart was so touched by these vets. The WWII vets will almost to a man say they didn't do anything special and others deserve the quilts more. They are all grateful for them though. The Viet Nam vets almost always cry and hug a lot and just repeat over and over how much it means to them.
It breaks my heart that I can no longer make the quilts. I will on occasion present quilts that others have made when needed in our area. I'm not special, there are thousands across the country doing the same and more.
Thanks, Karen! You are a wealth of good info. I'm downloading
that to print and post on my sewing room wall, which will soon be papered
with lots of your tips.

This is genius. I don't know how she figured this out but I know there are times this can be a life saver. Especially if you are making a round or curved edge quilt. It could be cut at 2 1/2 for bias binding.
