Here are a few of the quilts that I have actually finished.
First is the one I intended for my daughter's 30th birthday, but gave to her for her 33th. Angel

It was completely paper pieced and I will never do that again. At the time, it was easy it was just so big. Now I would never even attempt it.

To be honest, I don't even remember where I made this one. Maybe at a class at TriCounty Tech. I used to do that sort of thing. sigh

They are all beautiful, Susan. I am so impressed with everyone's work and only hope some day I will be able to do something half as nice.

Susan: I am mega impressed that you have done paper piecing! It's a technique that I might try some day (and might not!), but I admire you for undertaking such a large project. Did you do the quilting on it as well? Just beautiful!

Oh no, I had it professionally done. I still wouldn't have it to her if I had quilted it too. Whistling

I hear ya! Long ago when I first became interested in quilting, I was going to be such a purist: hand-sewn, hand-quilted. Hah! Didn't take long to realize that I'd be lucky to finish one quilt before I died. Machine sewing and taking it to the long-armer is the way for me.

Here is the Jelly Roll Race made from Optical Illusion jelly roll. Now I need to put on a border. Haven't decided what color to use.

Very nice. Now, I know you buy the strips in a package but couldn't you make your own?

sure you could. I like buying the jelly rolls because they are one fabric line and I don't have to cut anything. I hate cutting. LOL

Susan: That top looks pretty nice with the purple border on the other quilt.

Arlene: It would take a lot of cutting to make the strips you get in a jelly roll and folding the fabric could result in dog-leg shaped strips instead of straight ones. Ask me how I know Ears perked up!

I realize it's a lot of cutting but just asking cause I sure do have a lot of fabric right now. Smiling

Angie, I noticed that purple too. My daughter made that quilt for me for my birthday so I don't have any of that fabric on hand. I will ask her where she got it. Here are some pictures of the quilt.

Love it! Beautiful work, Susan. Maybe a purple batik would work?

Susan: Are you here? Is all okay with you? You haven't posted in a long time and
I'm praying that you are busy quilting.
