Name: Larry Rettig
South Amana, IA
Prep time: 15 min.
Bake time: 10 min.

3 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup any flavor fruit jam or poppy seed filling
1/3 cup confectioner's sugar

Mix cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add flour slowly until well blended. Shape into a ball and chill overnight or at least for several hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough out 1/8 inch thick--I like it a bit thicker--on a floured pastry board. Cut into 2.5 inch squares and spread 1/2 tsp. (or to your taste) filling on each square. Overlap opposite corners and pinch together. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes in preheated oven. Cool. Sprinkle lightly with confectioner's sugar.
