Love it! What a great idea, using the ribbons for a quilt. And I love all the colors.

LOL! I wish I could have more than my machine and David's set up. Actually, I do have my Viking Sapphire on the dining room table because I thought I would try FMQ with it but it's been so long since I used it and never really knew it so I barely know how to turn it on! Have to get the book out to read it.

I keep finding test blocks I have made whenever I try new patterns. Guess
some day I'll have enough to make a sampler quilt. Maybe. Someday.
Whenever.

Hilarious! When I got all this stuff from Mary Alice I couldn't imagine why she had so many stray blocks and as I move along, I find myself making many test blocks so my strays are building up as well. Some day, a sampler for sure.

Sounds like a great idea.Thumb of 2020-08-21/Jumper2/225ae1
This is the quilt top my great grandmother made. Ive put a dusty pink border on it.she hand sewed the top. Im using my machine as my hands can't do that kind of work without hurting.

That is gorgeous, Jumper. I cannot imagine having to hand sew anything more than binding. Is that particular pattern called Periwinkle? What a treasure.

A treasured heirloom! I hear you on the handwork. That's a beautiful
quilt top and to think it's all hand-sewn.

Mom remembers her mom wear dresses that some of the fabrics came from. This top was in my great aunt's estate. My grandmother, great aunt and great grandmother all sewed. It skipped a generation and I sew. Mom does not.

Even more special that it is made from some dresses worn by your grandmother. It may have skipped a generation, but you are making up for it. Do your sisters sew too?
