The dry side of Oregon

Our last frost date is usually around the end of May. Some years it is even into June. With the first frost possible sometime in September it makes a very short season. My wave petunias will be staying in the greenhouse on cold nights for a while. Sad I want to get them planted!

I'll try to limit Patch to about an hour at a time on the green grass. There will be OOPS days when I leave him longer than that. And sometimes like tomorrow I'll skip the morning grass because I have co-op, and will turn him out in the evening instead.

Today I finished weeding in the strawberry row, also getting most of the weeds along one side of the grape row. I raked the garlic mulch out of the pathway and moved it to use for strawberry mulch. It looks good. Kinda shaggy but sure better than when I started. The soaker hoses were put in place and the strawberries got a drink. Some of the blossoms have opened. Three blueberry bushes are showing signs of life, so I have decided to try to rescue them, and will transplant them into another area where they will not get the hot afternoon sun. But first I have to get the weeds out of that area. It's always something!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
