|*sigh* of the 4 I got from the one Murdochs, they all have passed. And now I lost 2 from the other Murdochs. I don't know if I'm going to buy any more from them.. probably not. John said that I can order some babies directly from a hatchery, so thinking about doing that.
But in the meantime, we battled the wind & went to Big R in Elizabeth yesterday. 22.6 miles 1 way in 40-50mph winds (was great going there, had a tail wind, not so much on the way back). Ended up with 10 new itties. Oops. But they do things in bulk, so you have honestly no guarantee as to what you're getting. I know that they get their itties from Privitt Hatchery, so I looked at their availability list & was able to narrow it down hopefully. There's only like 1 or 2 I'm not 100% sure on.
But they're so damned CUTE!!!!
Also had a problem with the chick food I've been feeding. The chicks try to eat it, but seems that it's too big of "crumble' for them. And since I was doing some inspection on them, I noticed that they didn't have really full crops, so I got some crumble, put it in one of my cruicibles, crushed it up into a finer crumble & powder, and put that back into their feeder. I also got another 2cups worth, mixed it in warm water, and made a hot mush for them. They really seemed to like that.
Never be afraid of a scar. It just means that you were stronger than something that tried to hurt you.
