|My first chicks were fenced in around 3 sides of the old oil heater with newspapers on the floor. The fence was a cardboard box cut so it was a long strip.... removed top and bottom, cut down along the fold at the corner and it made a perfect chick fence. We had no cats or dog in the house, so they were safe! When they got a few feathers we moved them to an enclosed but unheated back porch, then when they could fly or hop to the top of the cardboard it was time to take them to the chicken coop. I also had turkey poults in the shower in an unfinished bathroom.... hubby still tells that story and rolls his eyes!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
