|*sigh* I think I'm down to 17 chicks from my original 50+. But the ones I *do* have are a strong batch, voracious eaters, and really enthusiastic about everything it seems like. OH BOY! FOOD! OH BOY! WATER! OH BOY! NEW PAPER! OH BOY! DOOR OPENING! one of them is deciding to try & hop up onto the open doorway... looks like I'll have an escapee before too long.
I caved in yesterday. Peep peep peep!
I got 4 Speckled Sussexes & 2 White Wynadottes. Can't help it.... but they're in a brooder completely separate from the others and I have been doing massive amounts of sanitizing between messing around with one brooder versus another brooder.
I don't want to go over the whole chicken mess that I wrote about in SF Spring 2018 thread, but I will post a picture of Babushka. If she makes it, which I'm guessing that she will because she drank on her own & I'll be offering her special food when I get home from appt this afternoon. If she eats, then we're good to go. Poor thing. It was terrible looking. I won't post the picture of the wound.. it's truly that bad.
Never be afraid of a scar. It just means that you were stronger than something that tried to hurt you.
