This note is actually a common one from the Viet Nam Veterans. I confess I wasn't too socially conscious back then. I was busy raising 4 kids. Once I started with QOV, my heart was so touched by these vets. The WWII vets will almost to a man say they didn't do anything special and others deserve the quilts more. They are all grateful for them though. The Viet Nam vets almost always cry and hug a lot and just repeat over and over how much it means to them. It breaks my heart that I can no longer make the quilts. I will on occasion present quilts that others have made when needed in our area. I'm not special, there are thousands across the country doing the same and more. |
