I received an email this morning in regards to efforts to help those most affected by the disasters in Japan. The email noted that many children were saved because of the school systems warning and evacuation procedures, but the parents were often not so lucky. This leaves many children without parents. Here is a site to help those children.

Good idea. I've heard it's better to give as directly as possible, never in response to marketing calls or mass mailings or ads where you don't know if it's for real or how much percent the mass marketing firms will get. And always to organizations rated highly by independent groups that give ratings such as this one...I always check it out here.
