A strep is short for Streptocarpus or the common name being used Cape Primrose. They are a relative of the African Violet and grown under the same conditions. The biggest difference in culture is the soil mix. They like their soil with slightly more perlite for air to their roots. Overwatering will result in a quick death to these plants. My picture is a example of the flower. They come in all the same colors and more as AV's. Dave
