Johnson's Lumber is a bit more expensive and has the following: 4X4 10' treated - $15.84 each. Total for 4 is ~ $64.00 6X6 10' treated - $29.75 each. Total for 4 is ~ $120.00 2X6 10' cedar - $31.00 each. Total for 4 is ~ $124.00 So Home Depot had a good and cheaper way to go with either 1) the 4X4 landscape timbers or 2) the corner blocks and 2X6 10' pressure treated boards. Both of these are described in the earlier post on lumber. My recommendation is the four corner blocks ($3.27 each) with four PT 2X6 10' boards ($7.17 each) for a total of ~ $45 with tax. |

I'm really liking those corner blocks! How simple is that? About time someone came up with something like that! Do they also have straight blocks that could join two 10x10 or 8x8 in a line? I'm thinking about that area along the back fence being long and narrower, say 4x20. Also wondering if any of that new non-wood decking material would work in lieu of Pressure Treated. I also liked the idea of using timbers from some of the tress that have had to be taken down (Jolia said she had some, but I didn't get to see them before she left) Good way to repurpose them and they lend more to natural scaping than squares! Might get some toads hanging out...! I'll take a quick look at HD after the route tomorrow am. Judy |

Debbie, I think the corner blocks too. Maybe we could use the timbers for the area by the back fence. Julie |

Debbie and Julie G the corner blocks would work for back area, too. 3 - 5 blocks and 2 2x6x10 boards and one 2x6x8 cut in half. Does anyone have a leaf shredder? I have up to 5 bags of leaves that would work as 'mulch'. Judy |
