Here's a tutorial on how to make the perfect Beef gravy. 1/4 cup Flour 3 tbsp Real butter, unsalted 1 tsp Cornstarch ! can Beef Stock 1.2 cup pan drippings & scrapings: beef 1/4 tsp onion powder First, place a small saucepan onto burner. Place the butter into saucepan, then the flour. Stir them together quickly. (now you've made a 'rue') Next, slowly pour 3/4 of the can of Beef stock over the rue, stirring the mixture into the stock between pourings. When it is all in, add the pan drippings and onion powder to the would-be-gravy. Keep stirring. Add the cornstarch to the remaining Beefstock that is left in the can. Stir it well to mix, and then slowly add and stir it into the saucepan. Constantly stirring, the mixture should soon boil. Continue to stir while bubbling, another minute or two, or until the gravy begins to clear. Serve immediately, or store in clean glass jar in refrigerator for later use. For thicker gravy, add more cornstarch in a bit of cold stock. ![]() |
