I can't stand snarks. No reason to make one's opinion personal to another. Grumbling
Debates, yes. personal attacks? no. sorry to hear about that Toni. Sticking tongue out
I'll have to check out your thread. The bird you show is so pretty. I love parrots, especially hyacinths, eclectus and Austrailian lorikeets? (They are called lorikeets, right?) Sad
Oh, and Sun conures are beautiful too. I can't get any birds though, as you can see from the starting post in this thread. My kitten would never stop the mental torment.

Lynxx - Kitties not an excuse not to have a bird. Since you looked at my blog, you should see that I have a number of cats (last count: 15), plus the breeding canaries & my cockatiel. All inside a tiny house. Plus 3 dogs. I had lovebirds and I absolutely loved them, but one of my dogs was way more interested in killing them than I was comfortable with and so I found new homes for the lovebirds. The cats, they (for the most part) respect the birds and respect that if they get on a bird cage, Mama gives 'em a bath (much more evil form of punishment than a spanking). So they (for the most part) have equated birds = bath = WATER! and leave the canaries alone. Only exception is Erie, and she's only 4 months old, so she's still in the kitten-gotta-eat-everything-that-moves phase.

Here's the thread on my latest nest: http://cubits.org/roses/thread/view/39853/

And here's a thread for the set in my avatar. http://cubits.org/pets/thread/view/3147/

One bunny opened his eyes last night. This morning, the other one did too, right after feeding them. They are both up to 10 cc a day now. They are so cute, and beginning to hop when the basket is opened to feed them. Smiling

I know that kitties open their eyes at 10 days old, does that make your babies about 10 days old? And, since you're handfeeding them, you're going to have to keep them.. they'll have no fear of humans now.

No, we only handle them when feeding, and are going to let them go in an area of tall grasses near our home, but not our property. I don't want the cat thinking she can play with them anymore...
and I already have leather gloves! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

That's why I took that photo Chris. But they are much bigger than the day we found them, and much more alert. They now eat small weeds and grasses from the lawn, which is what the girl's website suggested. but they still want the bottle twice a day. She said we can release them when they are about 5 inches long.

They have to be getting close to 5 inches long. I'm not sure about wild bunnies, but I believe that domesticated bunnies are physically ready for reproduction at 3 months of age. Sucks to be on the bottom of the food chain where everything looks to eat you, except for maybe goldfish.

That seems really small to release them already. But I'm sure she knows what she's doing. Hilarious!

I haven't a doubt in the world that she knows what she's doing. If I'd been taken care of them, they might have become catfood by now. Of course, I'd try to raise 'em up for a few months, then have a nice dinner. But not everyone's mean like I am. Big Grin Whistling

Lol Toni. Hilarious!
She said to feed them milk for one month. This Sunday they will be about 2 weeks old. Gino said he thought that was small too, and wanted to keep until 6 inches long.
Her advice has kept them alive, I would not have known what to do if I hadn't found her site. They'd have surely died.

Chris, I bought the Andes candies to make your cookie recipe, and before I could get to them, Gino and Dad had torn through them! Grumbling
Now I have to buy them again, and put a padlock on the pantry! Hilarious!
