|This rum cider will certainly warm your tummy under chilly northern skies!
Hot spiced Rum Cider
1 medium orange, sliced and de-seeded.
2 quarts unsweetened apple cider
1 cup Dark Myer's 141 rum
1 cup water
1 tsp. whole allspice
16 whole cloves
2 (2 inch) sticks cinnamon
optional: additional cinnamon sticks
Combine all but the rum and and additional cinnamon sticks in a 3 quart saucepan.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth. Stir in the rum. Pour into cups. Serve with cinnamon stick garnish if you like.
Makes about 10 cups.
