|That is a pretty long life Toni, I never looked it up for bunnies. Why don't you start a thread so we can talk about your beautiful canaries? I've never seen colors like yours.
Back in late 80's, I used to work at an aviary in Homestead, fl. she and her husband had many different species of parrots.
Lol, let me tell you a story that I'll never forget\.
many of Linda's birds were rescues, that she had paired up and was trying to breed, She had built a beautiful, free swinging (from the tall trees) outdoor cage where each matched pair could actually fly (flight cages?)
Anyway, she had about 100 different cages, that wound down many gravelled paths., It was truly a peaceful way to spend the afternoon, walking amongst them.
One early evening I was walking through, admiring each pair, when i heard and old man and an old lady arguing. They were raising their voices, screaming obscenities and whatnot.
now Linda knew the birds were quite valuable, and had an excellent security system in place. So how two old farts could sneak through and get back here among them was beyond me. So I followed the sounds, looking for the two perps.
It turned out to be a pair of green parrots who had been in the home of two older people who had constantly fought with one another. The parrots had learned to mimic their voices, and the pair were 'going at it!!!'
i never laughed so hard in my life!
