| Love thm Lynn overall the left one which is not a crocus in my opinion but a colchicum, and a very beatuiful one. I think that I have notices this one on the Pacific Bulb Society, a very good website with RIGHT INFORMATION. http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/Colchicu... I think that the left one is a colhicum species and the crocus on the right an hybrid. Fall crocuces are not so many so you could find out easily but I will lokk up for both of them later on. In the meantime you can have a look at the PBS and to this beautiful website about crocuses, I would advice you to bookmark it http://www.thealpinehouse.fsnet.co.uk/crocus pages/ If I could see the leaves on the right one that would help and normally the first one has not leave at all as leaves are growing in spring (while blooming is now).  Catherine you are wonderful. That is it, and mine don't have leaves. I didn't even know they were there until we cut down the tall reed grass that they have been hiding in for 10 years. It was a very nice surprise. : )I will look tomorrow to see if there are leaves on the right one. |
