Lol, I use the flash for insects C, I wouldn't get fine detail if I didn't even with good light but sometimes I can take such as butterflies without the flash. For distant subjects such as birds I use the camera settings to get better photos, a good lens can make up for a lot of bad light.

This year we had a reasonable amount of sun, and some very hot weather which occasionally the body and soul needs to store up for when we don't have it.
