Penelope was created virtually on line in the Artisans forum for DG member Balvenie. I've set up a slide show (outside of cubit) with many photos that shows just what went into creating Penelope and the Elusive Butterfly. There are even videos that you can watch to see how she moves. http://uniquetreasures.phanfare.com/2147994 |

Did Balvenie get it? We were so sad to hear that he had passed :( My little spot NOW SHIPPING: soy candles, mango body butter, and peppermint foot cream |

Yes he received her shortly after she was created. He was quite proud of her, but never did hang her outside. He said she was too pretty to be outside. :-) Connie and I were both very sad when he passed on. He was much loved by all at DG. |

I'm glad he got to enjoy her! He really appreciated Artisans. My little spot NOW SHIPPING: soy candles, mango body butter, and peppermint foot cream |

Yes, he sure did. He did incredible work in so many different mediums. I always knew when I saw his name on a post that I would be seeing something awesome! |

Wow, somehow I missed all of this over at DG. What absolutely stunning work ladies! And incredible whimsy ;) Maybe one day I can get something like that. First I have to have a garden worthy of it though...lol! Thanks for sharing the documentation of what you did too. Sometimes we non-artists have absolutely no idea what goes into all that artisans actually do. |

Hi Sunny! Welcome and thanks for your kind words. Connie and I posted most of our sculptures on the Artisans Forum on DG over the past 3 years. We had a lot of encouragement from the folks at Dave's. Connie and I both think outside of the box. We both have our strengths and we combine them to get the most "bang for our buck". Connie is a pleasure to work with and there hasn't been a single sculpture created that we both haven't learned something new from. It just takes having an idea and the willingness to try things out. So far, we haven't blown up Connie's shop yet, though we have singed a towel or two that we were kneeling on when the torch was on. HAHAHA Here is a link to get to know us a bit better. http://uniquetreasures.phanfare.com/2147842#imageID=30537802 |
