Thanks Charleen and Nancy.

I knew as soon as I saw her work that I'd love to capture her talents here in the Nook. She's an awesome gal with an awesome vision and you are so right about that last creation Nancy. It took my breath away when I saw it. She's been telling me about it since we first started talking about doing the article. The colors and the layout of the design are just ethereal. I love the reflections in the light around her wings.

Be sure to check out her Etsy shop. She's got even more beautiful treasures in the shop.

Hi Addie! Welcome to Cubits! Did I tell you we're "brain pickers"? Big Grin Seriously though, you'll find this is a great group of folks that love to learn new crafts and improve on crafts they already do. There are several exceptional glass artists on Cubits. Cheryl does awesome work!

You guys are so right. And one of the great things about the "Cubiteers" is that, like on Dave's Garden, where the majority of us came from, we're all willing to share tips and tricks to make our art. I hope Addie will feel comfortable here and be willing to share some of her tips on working with Glass.

I'd love it if some of you would create something, taking photos all along and make a tutorial, like I've done with the copper sculptures.

Stained Glass is something I haven't done in more than 25 years. Connie taught me how to cut the pieces, etc.

This photo is from 1983. Connie and I were working on a Pegasus that was round.

I used to collect Pegasus. Here it is. About 6 months after this photo was taken, we moved. It was put int he bathroom window at the new house. Someone opened the window and walked out. Later that afternoon I found the Pegasus in a bajillion pieces on my bathroom floor. It was a very sad day!

Thanks so much. I was quite proud of the way he turned out. Connie helped me so much, picking out the glass, cutting each piece by hand, teaching me to put the channel stuff around the glass. And yes it was my first and my last. I never spent that much time on a project again. I never much cared for the guy that opened that window either, but that's a whole 'nother story.

I'm just so thankful that I have the photo of it. It really was beautiful with the sunlight shining through it. The colors of his wings remind me of the piece that Addie did. I remember having to wait on the Bull's Eye White glass. Boy those were the days.... before internet!

Another great article Janet!

It was sad Allison, but it was just a thing.

Lordy I remember all of the slivers of glass. When I look back at the photo of my daughter wandering around as we worked, I think to myself, what a bad mother I was. Then I look at Jen's face and she seems so happy. Hey, she's got shoes on! HAHAHA

Hi everyone! Thanks again for all of your compliments! They're much appreciated!

Janet...You did a great job on your Pegasus...so sorry you lost it. Have you thought about making another one?

Cheryl...I use GE Silicone II (clear) for Windows and Doors. I buy the tube that fits my caulking gun and squirt a glob out at a time on to a piece of wax paper. I work on my project a section at a time and once I get the glass cut and laid in place I use a popcicle stick and spread the silicone on each piece and then lay it back in place. Make sure you get it all the way to the edges or the grout will bleed under the glass. Once the silicone has curred then I go around each glass piece with an exacto knife and then use tiny screwdrivers and/or blades to scrape the silicone out between the glass. It's a lot of work but the finished piece is always worth it. I use a drill and a wire brush attachment to clean the silicone off of the top of the glass. Hope this helps!

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have...just shoot them my way!
