Sometimes in life we meet a new old friend when we least expect it. So it has been since I met Carol Noel. She is one of those people whose words hold smiles, and those smiles are contagious. I'd like you to get to know her, too.

It was a pleasure to learn more about you, Carol! What an exciting adventure, indeed! Very inspiring- both to just "do", and to just "be".

Mahalo (Thank you) nui loa (very much), Connie and Stormy... I am often surprised and impressed, myself, at having done so much. Somehow it all just happened while I was not planning my life...

I really feel that life can't be planned...we make choices. I wonder what would have happened if I had NOT taken the job offer in Mexico City (which I did, met husband #1, had son etc. etc.)...but had taken up the offer to go to Afghanistan as a representative of the King to work with the nomadic tribes who traveled between Uzbec/Afghanistan to teach about sanitation and first aid. Ummm, I would probably be either dead (in Palace Coup everyone shot) or travelling back and forth with the tribes and a gazillion children drinking yak milk. YUCK! I had just read Mitchner's book and was intrigued.

Smiling
