When I first asked Zany to be in our Spotlight, she was reluctant. She thought she wouldn't have enough to say and people wouldn't be interested. This interview proves she was wrong on both counts.

Zany...I have a technical question...can you help? I want to make an email list to send mass (about 20) mailings to with the recipients 'undisclosed'. I can't know where to begin to start and DH, the computer genius that he is doesn't know either....?????? Lovey dubby

Carol, go to your control panel and make a group with the people you want to do the mailing for.. Once you have the group created you can send a blast mailing to just that group.

OH Zany...I mean on my 'big' computer...either in Outlook or Hotmail...? I can follow usual directions as long as I don't have to 'write code'....but I have average spacey friends who send them out and I know they aren't geniuses!!!

Rolling my eyes.

Ah! That's a different ball of wax Big Grin Yo would create an email and send it to yourself as the recipient and put the other people as bc addresses. That way no one sees the other people it is addressed to. BC is blind copy. Do not use CC as it will show all the addressees to everyone.

So...if I have periodic emails to blast out...can I have that list of BC "standing by" somewhere to use when I need to? Is there anyway to create a 'stand by' format for multiple uses?

You could create the list and save it in a word processing document. Then copy, past it into the BC area when you wish to use it. Just be sure to create the list with a comma between each recipient address and no spaces just as it would be if you entered it manually.

Carol, in Gmail, AOL mail and in Yahoo mail, if you click on Contacts you can create a Group (or it might be called Category). I have one I call Cats, for a daily mailing I send to my cat friends, and one called Cousins, for any family news I may want to send.

Then go to each individual contact, click Edit, and it will give you a chance to add them to a group.

So when I send my cat people email, I open up the BCC (blind carbon copy) and just type "cats" in that space. It then sends it to all my cat people without sharing each other's addresses.

If Gmail, AOL and Yahoo have it, I guess they all must have it.
