What wonderful images are painted in this story. I can just imagine you sitting there, peacefully feeding water moccasins by your side, and scaring anyone pale that happened to actually see it! What a way with animals to be able to do that, especially with a snake that has a bit of a grumpy reputation. Your other animal stories show how well you can understand and connect with the animals around you. It is wonderful to have such loyalty by your side, ready and willing to protect you and the family when the need arises. Maybe your wild horse did come and keep you company for a while, and even showed you a rattlesnake. An amazing dream, and one I hope you can have again as you regain your youthful outlook and can almost purposely lose more responsibilities. Look and listen for the welfare of the whole people and have always in view not only the present but also the coming generations, even those whose faces are yet beneath the surface of the ground -- the unborn of the future Nation. Hi Lance. Actually water moccasins are a rather social snake, unlike rattlesnakes. I don't see myself making friends with the antisocial rattlesnake, though I wish it no harm. : ) God gives us many gifts and always is watching over us. We just need to open our eyes to see it all. ![]() |
