Not many people know just who Threegardeners really is behind that adorable little puppy in her avatar. Her name is Lee Anne and she's Canadian. She is a multi-cubit owner and she writes the weekly Cubits 'n Bytes Newsletter. There's more.....
You know, I feel like I know you without meeting you, but I have met you on DG and continue to meet you here.
I too was quite a shy kid, and I learnt at a very early age that those who formed their superficially friendly groups were not worthy of friendship. There was always a 'leader of the pack' at my school who had the rest of the girls under her thumb, I was not included in her 'group' and could not understand why others let themselves be led in such a way. I was probably all of 8 years old. I guess it's a universal thing.
I was given an old computer and later had to get a newer one around the same time as you, I also found DG when searching for plants. I started to add plants to the Plant Files, then someone left a comment on one and I had to join to be able to see it at that time! I was hooked.
Well, as you have found, we have grown with Dave & Trish and the opportunity they have given us. What a wonderful family they are, I too am forever grateful for what they have done for all of us and am so appreciative of this.

Nancy & Lee Anne, You've both given us a wonderful article here. Lee Anne your story is a great example for older kids and teens everywhere who've often felt a bit "different". The internet is indeed a wonderful thing and you have made a great use of it, much to all of our benefit. The internet has done a lot to influence our youth, not always in the best ways. Let's hope that this marvelous glimpse into your world will be seen by many and become an inspiration to them. Thank you both for this lovely experience.
