I have to tell you that my heart was in my throat as you told the story about Mike. It was really touching the way you expressed it, Chelle. I'm so glad your best friend came home. Your gardens are so pretty. I too have long admired your photos. That rose up there is lovely! I hope you and your little family have a long and happy life together. God bless! ( ![]() |

Chelle! I haven't talked with you lately but we held hands when we first started our cubits. I miss you and must make the time to visit your cubits more often. That is a great story about Blackie. Brought tears to my eyes. I too am such an animal lover that it is ridiculous. I really enjoyed reading your story and the insights into your personality! Never dreamed you were a papergirl supreme. Thought that was a boys job!!! LOL Connie |

Thank you Nancy. I'm so lucky to have had such a special childhood friend! I'm very pleased to hear you say that you like my photos. I hadn't seriously thought about shopping for a digital camera until I saw a glimpse of the photos you've taken! Your creations were my inspiration to start working with photography again. Thank you so much for that! I hadn't really realized how much I missed it. Connie - Oh, yes! Ink-stained hands and all. I'm not sure that I remember any longer if I was the only girl carrier or not. I don't think it ever crossed my mind. Ha, ha! I was just glad that I was able to make enough money to pay for my pony's lodging and feed. We lived inside the city limits then, so I had to board her at a nearby farm. |

You have made my day! My week! My entire year with your lovely, lovely compliment! I forgot to add up in my first post that you look so much like your very beautiful mother. |

Chelle, what a joy to read a little about you....and I'm certain there is much more you could share with us. I loved the story about Blackie too....and am so glad he ended up with you. Soul buddies, that's for sure! I garden naturally also and allow my garden to be the boss of itself most of the time. I like watching where the various vines intertwine and the colors they bring to the garden in surprise mixtures. I'll have to look for the book you love so much. You have a beautiful way with words, Chelle....and your photographs are gorgeous and I'm happy Nancy inspired you to get going again with her own wonderful photos. And Sharon, thanks for sharing all about Chelle with us! |

Chelle is a lovely subject to write about...and it was my pleasure to write the article. Vic, I had no idea you were a Hoosier. Thanks, ladies! |

I will have to add to the compliments. There seem to be so many similarities with the way we think, and what we do, it is fun to read that someone else shares these passions. I give talks on native plant, natural, no spray gardening, and one of the points I make is exactly what you experienced: Spray and you have a dead garden; garden with nature in mind, and the garden comes to life. I have it presented a bit differently in my talk, but it is good to know that yet another person experienced and overcame the chemical addiction. And it is so much better for your family, as well. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more of your little guy! Perhaps he and Skye can swap smiley messages. And of course, another wonderful job by Sharon. You have chosen many wonderful people to write about, and this one is no exception. Both of your words are wonderfully done. Look and listen for the welfare of the whole people and have always in view not only the present but also the coming generations, even those whose faces are yet beneath the surface of the ground -- the unborn of the future Nation. Thanks Christine - our gardens happily follow the same pathways! I've been learning so much more about organic gardening by visiting your cubit! Sharon - Thank you so much for putting this article together! :hearts: Lance - I return your sentiments. I'm enjoying strolling around in and learning more in your cubits as well! Vicky - I've often considered doing the same. I'd think N.C. would be a great place to retire to! |

Chelle, was a wonderful, enjoyable article. It hurt my heart reading the part about seeing Blackie every day, for both you and him. I was so happy to read that he came to you for good. What a blessing for both of you. I also enjoyed reading what an industrious little girl you were, and still are. Thank you for sharing a tiny part of your life with us. My little Red Bud tree waves a big hello to you. : ) |

Chelle, what a lovely story. I especially like the part about Blackie. I can just picture a little girl walking with her dog laden with nicely folded newspapers. I can't image life without a garden or a dog. I grew up in a small town also, about 7500 at the time. It's now a bustling suburb of Chicago. It was a safe town for children and my mother, now 84, is still friends with the neighbors we had then. I remember her having coffee clutches, bridge club and sewing club with the neighborhood ladies. I wonder if women in neighborhoods still do that today? A much gentler time, that's for sure. Ive enjoyed looking at your photos all these months. Your gardens are beautiful with all the twists and turns dotted with interesting hardscape and accents. You've made yourself a beautiful paradise. Keep up your photography interests. I wouldn't be surprised if some of your work shows up in a magazine someday "photos supplied by Chelle". |
