I became familiar with Sheri over at the Playpen of Graphics Jigsaw Puzzle Forum. Some of the puzzles Zany made were of Sheri's budgies, beautiful birds that she talked about as if they were her family. We puzzlers are a close-knit group, and I started to get attached to them too. So it was a delight for me to chat with her for this article.
Hi Sheri - What a wonderful story and thank you for sharing it with us. Your tatting is just beautiful. Do you have the sour milk cake recipe? What a lovely family you have as well. You are truly blessed!
Thank you Nancy - for introducing Sheri to the Cubits community. GREAT article!
Vicki, I will get the recipe from mom today. I'm pretty sure she has it and I should have it! I'll post it when I get it from her.
Julie, glad you are enjoying the Movies & TV cubit! I love reading about the new movies people watch. It has really added to movies that I have watched.
Fascinating interview. I have so enjoyed the puzzles with your birds and look forward to many more. I agree with Arlene that tatting is almost a lost art. Do you still do it? And I just adored your Christmas card weekends... What a warm and fuzzy way to spend time with family. It's really nice to "meet" you Sheri.....

Thank you for another wonderful interview, Nancy. I recently acquired some rescue birds - 2 lovebirds and 2 cockatiels - so I can appreciate having birds around. They are fun, but not quite ready yet to be allowed out of their cage. One lovebird is smart enough it figured out how to lift open the feeder door and let itself out and back in. This door is now tied shut unless in use. Maybe some day, my son and I will enjoy having a bird hang out on our shoulder or hand.
