By Sharon Brown on June 20, 2011

Sally, or Sunfarm as we know her here on Cubits, is one of my Kentucky friends. She lives nearer to my mountain hometown than I do and sometimes I have to look at her pictures just to get a glimpse of my beloved hills. Uplifting, you bet! And it's even more uplifting to know Sally.

God bless you dear friend.

It is an honor to be your friend. I'm so grateful.

Thank you for all that you have taught me in the time I've known you including all the cool stuff about concrete Thumbs up

Thank you for your sense of humor.

Thank you for telling me all about Aslan (Sally's cat) and sending me the photo of the two of you.

You have held each of us up in the weather cubit this past week. Your courage and humor in the face of adversity has been a life learning experience.

Please know that I will treasure your friendship always.

God bless you and your family with peace today and forever.

I love you dear friend Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

I am so jealous.
Why didn't I get a picture of Sally and her cat?

Thanks, Vic. I love her, too, you know.

I am also happy to hear that you are a lover of cats, Sally. They do for us what no other pet can do. I'm thinking about my cat Lucy, who lies in the crook of my arm every single night in bed, purring her contentment as I stroke her face and chin.

You, dear woman, are simply amazing. I wish I could know you as well as Vic and Sharon have. I respect your mind and your heart. This was such a lovely Spotlight story.

Thank you for gracing our cubit. God bless you, now and forever.

What a wonderful, inspirational spotlight. I am so happy I have gotten to know Sally through this spotlight. What a lady!

Sally, with hospice coming in, you should be well taken care of. The hospice here is just wonderful. I pray it is in your area also.

I wish you as many days as you can have left with little pain. I know you already have peace in your heart, and that will help with whatever comes.

And, I guarantee, it will never rain here, without me thinking of the lovely lady I just met.

God bless, Sally.

Here's a thread where Sally shares a lot about her home in Estill County. I remembered it from last year but when I wrote the article I simply couldn't find it. But here it is, better late than never.

I loved the thread because it told a bit about the history of her farm and the house they are living in. Could be because I love old homes, but could also be because Sally paints beautiful pictures with her words.

Thanks Rann, Stormy, and all of you who are leaving comments for Sally.
She absolutely is a lovely lady.

It rained again briefly this afternoon.
I'm getting much better at dancing in it.

Sharon, thank you for introducing me to your beloved friend...and Vics...and many others I'm sure.

Sally, may these next weeks bring bits of bliss and special joys to your heart. I painted this cat for someone else but thought you might enjoy seeing it. May God's angels hold your hands tightly. Lovey dubby

From the beginning, I knew you were a special person. As time went by I realized I had respect for you. Then I found out how much I cared about you.

I thank you for teaching me about concrete and I was interested in the advice you could give before we got our concrete driveway poured. I feel confident now that the guy doing it will do it right.

I loved the story and the pictures of your farm. What a beautiful place! I smiled over reliving your flood.

You are an extraordinary person and I am so glad to know you.

I just read the entire link Sharon posted that includes all of Sally's remodeling of her beautiful home and pictures.

Oh WOW! I've always and forever wanted a summer kitchen. They just make sense! My grandma had a summer kitchen. I loved it Thumbs up

My favorite photo though, was the beautiful lavender sky with the rainbow Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

I hope you have a peaceful and pain-free day Sally.

Much love and hugs...

Sally, I do not know you but I feel strongly that your story will touch many lives as it just has mine.

I pray for strength for you and comfort as you pepare for the final leg of your journey home! May the Lord hold you close and ease your path.

It certainly does not rain nearly enough here in the desert, but I will remember you and your story everytime it does.

Becky, my cats Aslan and Beechfork are orange and Mitts (who lived to 21) was a tuxedo. Their predecesssors (Tazio, Mercedes, Fllowerpot, the first Aslan, and TJ were all orange and white). Now I have a gray cat that doesn't even require feeding! Thanks for sharing!
