We've known her for a long time for the roses and daylilies that she's shared with us. Some of us have also known of her incredibly huge heart. But there's something about Angie you might not yet know; I've finally talked her into sharing with us.

Your story touched me very much, brought tears to my eyes to think of what you put aside in YOUR life to bring up this little child.... I am sure it was a very tough decision to take on a child at that stage in your life and you are a VERY SPECIAL, BEAUTIFUL Lady! You are a very unselfish person and I am sure Alexis, when she grows up, will realize what you put aside in your life to bring her up! With ALL MY HEART, I wish you the VERY VERY BEST! Thank you for sharing your life, in writing with us - you did a wonderful job!

Thank you, Ladies, for reading my story and for understanding. I sincerely feel that I am the fortunate one to have Alexis in my life, because she is so full of laughter and fun, something that pretty much had departed my life in the grief that followed my aunt's death. I have Alexis to thank for bringing it back, along with a lot of fatigue, sleepless nights and sheer exhaustion Rolling on the floor laughing but now I am truly starting to feel alive again!

You are both very kind.

Angie, you are amazing! Courage, spurred on my great love, and the vision to see that you can make this special child's life beautiful flows through your story. And I'm glad that you are already seeing and feeling the rewards! God bless you!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Angie is struggling with time commitments right now and will be away from her computer for awhile. She asked me to relay her thanks to you for reading and commenting on the article. She'll return as soon as she can.

And thanks from me too, I thought it was such a beautiful story as well.

I'm a 63 year old dad of two wonderful little boys, eldest coming up four and my youngest just 18 months, my golden years have turned out to be the most rewarding of my entire life as I always wanted sons. I lost my first son from a previous marriage at age just 3 months and thought I would never again have a son, now I have two and what a gift they are!
I so wanna live to see them become men. Sorry but I have a few tears to shed.... SIDS, I pray each and every day this never happens again! Crying Oh dear I so pray for every parent never to suffer this.
Love and prayers,
Jon

I am so grateful for the support and encouragement all of you have offered and I appreciate your reading the article and commenting on it. Unfortunately for our society, there are many grandparents raising granchildren and while we may be in a minority of great-grandparents who've taken up these reins, I am so thankful to be in a position that I could offer Alexis a home and some security that has been missing in her life.

God's blessings on you all.

Angie
