I enjoyed everyone else's stories, too, and the photo of two dogs and a boy in that cage is great! It's true, you wouldn't think they'd all fit in there...

Oh FUZZY PICKLES!

I posted this in a thread over in the playpen and Nap suggested I copy/paste it here...

When my first born started to school, we found him picking up a very colorful vocabulary. I sat him down and started giving him a list of words and phrases that he was NOT allowed to use no matter what his friends said or their parents allowed... He looked up at me with his big brown eyes and said..."then what CAN I say?" I told him he could say Fuzzy Pickles. He thought it was funny and pretty soon all the kids were saying "Oh Fuzzy Pickles" instead of @*#! or %!#*. It became a multi use word that we still use Big Grin

It's all about choices.
LOVED the stories!!! Thanks to all!!!

Lynn - there are NO stones or rocks that one can take away from Madame Pele... however, if you take one from where you find it, and you tell Mme. Pele that you respect her rock and will take care of it and not hurt it, there is no curse. I don't think there's a time limit on it, either....

Such fun to be a part of this article, thanks everyone for enjoying it all. Lots of fun stories, and I am sure plenty more out there somewhere, even if we do not remember them all (on purpose sometimes?).

Something funny happened just a couple days ago at the local Hallmark card store.
There was a young couple with a little boy, maybe 3 or 4 years old, and he was running around yelling, "Don't beat me, Daddy! Don't beat me, Mommy!"
Of course, I was shocked, so I looked to see if I should rescue the poor child. Oddly, he was smiling and laughing as he ran, and there were no bruises apparent. Mom and Dad saw me looking, and quickly scolded him, "Stop SAYING that, Brandon!"
Dad then felt the need to explain, "He's always racing us at home, and always has to be the winner, so he tells us not to beat him to the other side of the room."
I told him that I was relieved not to have to call Child Protective Services...

The thrills and challenges of little ones! My son likes to tell people that I used the biggest vise grips I had to pull his loose teeth! And he says it with a serious face so well, not everyone is sure what to believe.
