White, convertible. What a fun, fast, little car! It was mine in 1983 and the convertible roof leaked so bad! when it rained it was like Niagara Falls inside. I learned how to drive a standard in that little car. photo: http://www.riverhaus.co.uk/mgb_2.JPG My Dad, who worked in General Motors, hated that little car! I probably could have parked it in his truck! I drove it to see my Grandparents who lived 3 hours away. Parked it in their front yard, they lived in a tiny town up North. I remember all of the elderly men walking by Gramma's house, they'd stop and look that little thing over, even got down on the ground and looked under it....they'd never seen one before. I miss that little car.... |

What a great subject Sharon!! Funny though. My next car was an old Mercury Marquis. It started it's life as a police car then ended up as a taxi.It had a zillion miles on it. I bought it for a dollar!! It leaked oil so bad I had to carry a case of the stuff in the trunk. Killed the grass on the boulevard in front of Mom and Dads where I parked it. After it died I bought an old canary yellow Dodge Duster. One day in 1990 Dad showed up at my apartment and said "let's go for a drive". He drove me straight to the closest GM dealer and introduced me to the salesman. I didn't have any idea what I wanted, or even if I wanted a new vehicle, usually cars found me...so the salesman said he knew just what I needed and showed me a beautiful shiny black Chevy S-10 pickup truck. I drove it off the lot that very day. Dad finally had me driving the right brand of vehicle. ![]() |

Sometime in the 80's I had a creamy yellow Mercury Grand Marquis. Loved that car! You got yours for a dollar, and I was just thinking that I remember paying about $10,000 in the 80's for my new Mercury. Oh boy. Can't even find a new anything for that price anymore. I never had a Dodge at all, but I used to drive my husband's pick up sometimes, mostly because it was red. Seems like pickups are so tall I have a tough time getting into and out of them. But then I have a tough time getting into and out of SUVs as well. I did have a teal Camaro one time. That was pretty fun. |
