Image Roving Reporter: What Will The New Year Bring?
By Nancy Polanski on January 30, 2012

It's January 2012. A fresh new year begins. I've asked some of our members to consider what that means to them. "What do you think will be different for you this year, as compared to 2011? Will this year bring changes in your life?"

Changes usually tend to make me nervous, but I think some are called for about now.

I've been through some pretty heavy changes of my own the last few years. I have to admit....I couldn't be happier.

Sometimes, unexpected changes occur in our lives and blow us around like a feather in the wind. If the winds are mild we can ride them out and be content knowing we will come through it and in many cases be stronger and better for it. If the winds are strong they can destroy us or we can choose to overcome all the odds and by sheer strength of will...we can choose to be happy. I choose to be happy.

Too right!!! The winds/changes are there ... we can choose to resist them OR accept them and "go with it"...the choice IS ours 'cause the changes/winds don't care. Accepting them is fearful...we MUST trust that the good will prevail because if we are in balance...the good WILL prevail....

Hey...that's why life gave us bandaids!!!

Rudolf Steiner started the Waldorf school philosophy, which is where my son goes. A very interesting set of ideas.
I am a very scientifically minded observation, practical and reality oriented person, which is why I am convinced there must be some sort of spirituality or energy just beyond the realm of our consciousness. How else do you explain my son being convinced he saw his teacher, who recently and very suddenly died, playing drums in a tree on the playground? What about those feelings of premonition felt by so many that come true? There must be something to it, and Rudolf Steiner I am sure would have some very interesting explanations of it all.
I hope it all turns out for the better for all of us.

He must have been telling your son to keep marching to the sound of his own drum.

It was an interesting conversation, actually. He was looking at a photo of his class taken about 3 weeks prior to his teacher leaving. I asked him if he was OK and how he was feeling, than I reminded him how much fun his teacher liked to have (he really did, a wonderful person), and Skye said "What do you mean used to?" Then he told me about how he was certain he saw his teacher playing around in the tree during recess one day.
No problems with my little guy marching to the sound of his own drum, I just need to make sure it is a good beat!

This may sound really crazy...but I believe there are many dimensions in this world/our lives and we are only aware of the 3. Children and their inocense (sp?) and purity are often aware of the 4th and 5th and possibly more. DH, a scientist, would kill me if he thought I believed this...and I don't knowthat it is a belief...rather I have an openess to Confused the possibility of it.

Your scientist needs to read more National Geographic, whereby other cultures do some amazing things beyond any realm of science I know of. Keen powers of observation and deduction lead me to conclude there is much beyond our awareness!

....oh - Lance - old scientists get kinda stuck in their "repeated and repeatable controlled experiments" groove and it makes them happy and keeps their yayas alive. I am very close to folks who are close to the Hawaiian beliefs: all of our natural world (trees, rocks etc.) is animate and family and the ancesters visit and Pele (Goddess of Fire) is pissed off sending lava from her hurting womb.....while he is solving problems to save the world and it's all good. In fact....it occurs to me that people are discussing shifts/changes/different dimentions and wasn't it the Mayans whose calendar ends this year (?)....or maybe it doesn't mean 'end' but come out on a different level, change....

Sure wish it would happen cause there seems to be a lot of work to do in a short period of time! Not going to sit around and wait for it to happen, tho'...just a fun thing to think about!!!

Kareoke...I hear what you are saying...! I read the question as being personal...inner changes (or could be outer...like plastic surgery to remove my other 3 chines I don't need....)which for me have been mindblowing! Tho' it is a small old mind that is being blown up!!! Big Grin

I am one who through experience knows that there are different realms that some of us are aware of. Children with their open awareness see far more than we do. Instead of curbing their "imaginations" we should be encouraging them to continue to be aware and learn what they can as they interact with those other realms.

Throughout my life I have had experiences with these other realms. I have experienced out of body travel. I have had contact with other beings who live within our universe. Our world is criss-crossed with what has been called Ley lines...energy lines that beings can travel up and down on...I have felt these lines and the energy is like electricity although not painful, just tickles.

I know this might sound strange to some but I know it is true. As time goes by I look forward to other experiences like these.
