Sharon, I have been thinking about words by Mark Twain, I think they were meant for younger folks. At my age there's not too much wind in my sails, a safe harbor may be best. Big Grin

Thank you for using my eagle photo. I tip my hat to you.

Maybe, but maybe it's for us as we look at each new day in front of us. Maybe it means to look more closely, do something different, enjoy the day in a new way, make new friends, things like that.

If we just sit there and give up on life, then what's the point of living?
I try to never be afraid to get outside my comfort zone, and these words are a reminder of that. We might not have twenty years, or even tomorrow, but we do have today. And as long as we have today, we have time to try new things, meet new people, and make new choices.

Thanks to you for the eagle.

Oh, I do not intend to just sit and give up on life, I mostly enjoy each new day from my safe harbor. I have always been afraid to go outside of my comfort zone, but still, I have learned new things, like the computer, which enabled me to learn new things and meet new people. Big Grin

I just finished reading a little book by Peneplope J. Stokes entitled THE WISHING JAR. It is about a dynasty of women who began their lives in different era's. It started with the Wishing Jar and its promise of magic but the most important part I found in the stories was that each woman had to learn what "we all need to live while we live". Each woman learned it because of tradegy and sorrows that came into their lives and they wanted to give up...in the end, they passed on great treasures to the next generation of strength, faith, and knowing that life was worth living...no matter what age you were...and make the most of it.

Its strange that Mark Twain should also espouse these words in a simpler way.

For me each day is a new beginning on my journey through life..I may not always like it but I learn something from it.

We all need to live while we live.

Good words, LaVonne, thank you so much for sharing them and the book reference as well.
And Happy New Beginnings to you!
