It is often the simplest truths that are the hardest to live by. I had to think about this quote for a while before I understood that she was not saying to accept what others were saying, but to accept their right to their opinions and to carry on with your work without letting their words upset you or hinder you. To smile in the face of opposition and choose to be happy in your work.

At least, that is my interpretation. Smiling

My interpretation, too, Zany. It takes inner strength to do that, but it's inner strength that we need and must develop for ourselves.

This is one of the quotes I live by. The upside of doing this is that it makes anyone trying to upset really really mad when you smile and go on with what you are doing. But sometimes doing this results in a problem getting solved much quicker than it would otherwise.

Rolling on the floor laughing That reminded me of two men I used to work with. They despised each other. One was always pulling mean stunts on the other and would make a mess of things and blame the other. The second one did not retaliate. Instead, he would grin a HUGE GRIN Big Grin and laugh as he went about his job. That grin made the first guy even madder and more desperate to reek coals of fiery "revenge" upon the other man.

Neither could remember why they were feuding!

I've seen that happen too, Margaret, and it's really a sign of strength when we can smile and go on.

Been missing you, Margaret, hope you've had a good summer! Group hug

Usually that's the case, Zany, they can't even remember what triggered the hatefulness.

HI Sharon I've been popping in and reading your posts just not taking time to post myself.
I'm doing well thank you. It's been a busy summer that seems to be going very fast for me. Family and friends have me busy making stuff for them and I'm also making small gifts for my nieces this year (all 10 of them) Add in a few birthday gifts later this year and you have a pretty good idea how my time is being spent right now.

I hope you survived the storms we've had the last two days.

I'm so far to the west of you we haven't even had a drop of rain but I've been watching those storms over your way! Be safe because they might not all be over. It hasn't even cooled down yet either.

Crocheting?? More doll clothes? That would be so much fun. How are the bees and how was your garden? you'll have to send me a mail to catch me up!

Great quote and Mother Teresa was one of my heroes. I so wanted to meet her in person.
