Mary Ann and I took the trip to Wild Iris Rows on the same day I received the new computer. It was my first trip of any distance away from home since I was so sick. And that day was so beautiful it was like a new beginning for me. I usually get the quotes ready on Wednesday evening and since I hadn't learned to load images from my camera to the computer yet, I grabbed this one that Mary Ann had sent. It is a reminder of my first big day of a new Spring! I just couldn't resist. Thank you. Lovey dubby

Shining through, loud and clear, sweet lady.

Don't be embarrassed. It's only the truth which we all see, not just me. But I'll stop now because I think I'm making you uncomfortable. I don't want to do that. I'm sorry.

But you see, Nap, life isn't about me. It's about all those people who are in my life and who mean so much to me. We are here for others in whatever way they need us. Just like you and your little shadow and his family. See? Smiling

Ah, yes. I see.

Before I retired from my job, everyone at work asked me why I wanted to leave. What was I going to do? I replied that I didn't know yet. I said, "I know God has a plan for my life, and when He is ready He will show me what it is."

He did show me, in no uncertain terms. He brought people into my life who gave me a whole new perspective. He showed me a way that I could be His hands on earth. He taught me that my retirement was not meant for my own R&R. He introduced me to a new way of life. I am not that person I was when I retired.

I'm sorry to take so much time on this, because it's straying from the original topic, but you opened up the door and I'm bursting through.

There's a song on the radio by Jason Mraz that says my philosophy toward my refugee friends. Part of it goes like this.

"I don't want to be someone who walks away so easily, I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make. Our differences, they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and gifts we've got...."

It goes on to say, "I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not, and who I am."

I learned a lot about myself from these people. So I agree completely with what you said in your last comment. We need each other. And that's the beauty of it.

(Okay. I'm off the soapbox now. *Blush* )

You can get on your soapbox anytime, my friend. I understand and agree. And I do love that song, too.
