It is not easy to listen when you believe the person is wrong. When their thoughts and remarks are in opposition to what you think.

We often need to "bite our tongue" to refrain from spurting out something that should not be spoken, and once said cannot be unsaid.

But we also need to "bide our tongue" and learn to listen to the other person. By listening, we may find common ground or a better understanding. We can hear anothers perspective and then they will be more willing to hear ours.

Without being willing to listen, no one can be persuaded.
