I use to love watching the sunrise in the silence of a sleeping household. I worked nights and enjoyed the quiet time before the family woke. Then the silence was shattered by calls of "what's for breakfast?" Then, after everyone was fed and sent off to school, I could sleep as that lovely sun moved across the sky.
Whenever we went to the east coast shore, I took my camera and got up early to take pictures of the sunrise. I have many nice shots over the ocean.
And at home in the summer I sleep with my bedroom patio door open for the fresh breeze to come into my room. In the morning the robins wake me up. My bedroom faces west so I don't see the sunrise, but I do get to feel and listen to its lovely hopeful promise.
