| What a great subject Sharon!! Funny though. My next car was an old Mercury Marquis. It started it's life as a police car then ended up as a taxi.It had a zillion miles on it. I bought it for a dollar!! It leaked oil so bad I had to carry a case of the stuff in the trunk. Killed the grass on the boulevard in front of Mom and Dads where I parked it. After it died I bought an old canary yellow Dodge Duster. One day in 1990 Dad showed up at my apartment and said "let's go for a drive". He drove me straight to the closest GM dealer and introduced me to the salesman. I didn't have any idea what I wanted, or even if I wanted a new vehicle, usually cars found me...so the salesman said he knew just what I needed and showed me a beautiful shiny black Chevy S-10 pickup truck. I drove it off the lot that very day. Dad finally had me driving the right brand of vehicle.  |
