Who Is Arlene Marshall ?

Those of us who have been watching the progress of the Yum Yum Divas Cubit have discovered that it is a fast growing database filled with over a thousand recipes and growing. Many of these recipes are Arlene's, although she has also been aided in this enormous effort by several other great cooks. But who is Arlene? She is a woman who has managed to be successful in two very different fields and I have come to admire greatly. If you are as curious about this remarkable lady as I am, you will enjoy this article from her home town. |
Introducing... Arlene Marshall Those of us who have been watching the progress of the Yum Yum Divas Cubit have discovered that it is a fast growing database filled with over a thousand recipes and growing. I asked Arlene about the school closing and this was her reply:  I closed the school because it was too labor intensive at my age. My one range had to be replaced and when I bought the new one, I couldn’t think of exposing it to that much wear and tear.  What made you decide to be involved in the Yum Yum Diva's cubit?  Since closing Twin Lakes Cooking School . . . there has been a void in my life. I didn't realize it. I was invited over to cubits to input my recipes and have learned much more than I expected. Now I have discovered that I have a passion to write . . . . about food. I think my dear husband would tell you I am much easier to get along with when I am cooking and writing. You mentioned that you would be adding tutorials. Will those be geared toward the advanced cook or will they be for novices like myself?  The tutortials will cover basics as well as more extentive and complicated techniques. I was always pleased when someone would hold up a garlic bulb and ask, “What do I do with thisâ€.  I, once, had the same question. I love helping people with the simplest of things as well as more complicated. Are you still practicing Chiropractic?  I retired from Chiropractic in 2009 after 28 years of practice. Is there anything else you can share with us?  Not really; just that I have a continuing passion for all things food. Arlene is working hard to bring the Yum Yum Diva's cubit up to her exacting standards and those who are watching are enjoying the site already. But there is more to come...We now have it from the lady herself that she will be adding tutorials soon... so keep checking in on this amazing woman and be ready to try out those mouth watering recipes that are being added. Arlene said that Dea has been a great contributor lending her support and many recipes for which she is thankful. She also gives credit to grannyof8 whom she has known for some time and is happy that she has come to this new site and adds recipes.  If you want some fresh ideas for family meals, snacks, deserts or anything food...Check out the Yum Yum Diva's!  Thank You Arlene for being gracious enough to allow me the honor of writing this and affording me the chance to get to know you a little better. ![]() |
