List of Ingredients
|4-5 medium potatoes, boiled, drained and mashed with sour cream, butter and enough milk to make|
them really soft.
Put in a casserole dish ; maybe 8â€ X 8â€
Melt 2 T butter in pan and cook on low one small to medium onion which has been diced until onion is soft
Stir in 2 T flour, 1 tsp dried Thyme, Â½ tsp salt, Â½ tsp pepper; increase heat to medium, and stir constantly until bubbling.
Stir in 1 cup half and half and continue stirring until very thick.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
1 tsps Dijon mustard
Â½ cup mayonnaise
Spoon over top of potatoes and put in a 375 degree oven until top is golden.
OR . . .
After assembling . . . .
Can be covered and refrigerated to bake a day or two later;
You can pull it out to sit at room temp for several hours; Put in a 350 degree oven for 20-30 minutes to heat through.
If still not brown, can increase temp to 375 degrees and pull out when brown.
