Note from the Diva
The only negative on this recipe is the high salt content from cooking out of jars and cans. It would be nice if food manufacturers would start giving the option of low sodium versions of their sauces.
That's the only reason I won't make it too often. But if I had surprise company swoop down on me, I now am assured there is something straight from the pantry to feed a hungry crowd. |
List of Ingredients
1 jar pesto
1 jar tomato basil red pasta sauce
1 jar alfredo sauce
1 can Rotel Original tomatoes with peppers (alternatively you can use a can of tomatoes, diced in their own juice & low sodium is available. Rotel makes 3 or 4 versions of their tomatoes)
Fresh Pasta
Fresh Parmesian
We added 2 pounds of Italian Sausage that had been fried and broken up into small pieces. |
Preparation
Toss first four ingredients into a big pot; stir together and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Fry and drain the sausage; alternately you could add cooked chicken or any other protein source.
Prepare the pasta according to package directions.
When serving, garnish with fresh parmesan.
Add a tossed salad and some good garlic toast and you have a meal! |
