This is favorite with my family during the summer. Of course, it is not rocket science so you can change any amounts according to your taste.
To chiffonade: lay out basil leaves on top of each other and roll up like a cigar. Then take a sharp knife and cut crossways . . . very thin slices. The result will be fine slivers.
