Take a couple of cups of flour, measured carefully.
Then sift them, even just once
Then very carefully scoop back into measuring utensil.
You will have more flour than you measured the first time.
Now, in cooking it doesn't matter, because cooking isn't terribly scientific.
But in Baking there can be a huge difference. We don't sift our flour for pie crust but we do for cakes & breads.
