|Yes, you could use salsa. I have put it over store bought fresh pasta, home made pasta, and the dry rotelle (the curly, heavier pasta). It's good with any. My home made is so delicate that I have to cut back on the ratio of sauce to pasta and can't just mix it all together. But if you plate the pasta first and just perch a dollop of sauce on top, it works.
For those who don't want heat in their sauce, a plain can of diced tomatoes in their own juices can be substituted for the spicey Rotel.
It will work fine over the ravioli too. And, did I mention it freezes well?
