Another eBay banana.
Poor thing got burnt to a crisp. I had to keep it in almost total shade for the first summer. It seems to take more sun now that it's a bit older.

Banana Buff!!
OHNO.... Sad Sad
I hope it does recover for you!!!!
How many leaves does it have left?
Can you use a shade cloth canopy over the area it's in to minimize the 'sunburn'?

I know this sounds weird, but did you ever try a taste of the stem or petiole?
They are edible, people in other countries make foods out of all kinds of the parts of the banana plant!
My Che' & I tried it...other varieties are not as tasty...
Wash it & cut a small slice, it tasted like a watery, sweet kinda celery taste to us.

I know...CRAZY right?

AeAe is the King banana though, only Hawaiian royalty could eat them yes? Hilarious! ~Cheryl

It has no leaves left, the pseudostem broke in the middle. I know, I took the top part and wondered if I could propagate it, LOL.

However, my tiny 2 leaved Thai variegated one that I moved into a bigger pot is doing VERY well, so that makes me happy!

I haven't figured out proper winter care for my bananas yet. I'm afraid to water them, because it gets cold in the greenhouse on cloudy days and at night. But on sunny days it gets really hot in there- in the 90s! All my p-stems got skinnier over the winter, which makes it hard to hold up the leaves on the big plants. One of the Siam ruby's broke in the wind, too, although it was only a few ft tall.
