hi nanerteers, i have a couple of ice cream bananas that i transplanted many weeks ago. they have been in a state of limp leaves since then. the leaves are holding on and still have some green. however, they just do not open fan out. also, and most importantly, it has not pushed out any new leaves. i am not sure what to do. please advise. thanks! |

How many weeks are you talking about? Your description sounds like water deficiency. But it could just be transplant shock. Existing leaves might all die off and be replaced by new ones. There aren't any signs of newly emerging leaves when you look down into it from the top? |

hello tropicbreeze, i'd say that it has been about four weeks. i have kept the soil moist since transplanting and have avoided keeping it more on the wet side since the bananas have not been actively growing. it still has the old leaves from when i transplanted them. they have just been closed the whole time. i do not see anything coming up when i look down the petioles. i guess i just have to wait. i'd notice something above the soil if they corms had rotted, right? |

How big were the bananas you transplanted? Did you move from pot to pot or from pot to ground or ?? Are they in full sun or part shade- indoors or out? |
