Been there, Done that!
My info box doing as you suggested is 125 by 1000, now the problem is that I created one in PSP and made it 200 x 600 and it looked great on many screens until Zany notified that on hers it was over lapping the right column so is it best to just go w/o the photo?

Yep, I think Dave is right that it's best not to use a graphic in that box. It really can be problematic in moving the rest of the page around.

Could you check out the change I made today with the Top Info Box for the Arrangements 101 thread and see if it is going to work okay? Would appreciate it immensely. The box with the screenshot was 960 but I kept it to 600 and then let the sides white to make up the difference. Hope it works well now on different monitors.

Candee, it's forcing the graphic into the next column. As I mentioned above, I really do believe that using a graphic in that box is a bad idea. You are not going to find a width that looks good universally, and there is absolutely no way to predict what size the majority of your viewers are using. Here's a screen shot of how it looks on my monitor at full width in Firefox.

Hi Evey, I need some feedback on how my graphic looks here. I put the picture at the top and the words at the bottom with some space seperating them. My picture below the header is 700 pixels wide and 150 to 250 pixels tall on some pages. Does it look okay over there on my Cubits? Karen

Hi Karen... same issue as Candee's. Yours looks fine in Firefox, displaying like this:

But look how it displays when I open it in the AOL default browser:

Using a graphic in that box truly is not a good idea if your goal is to make your Cubit attractive for all of your viewers. It's great to suggest Firefox for everybody, but even then you can't determine the width or character size your users will select. Older folks often set the text to very large for readability... and that setting change alone will wreck your screen settings.

This must be why Dave disabled it before..... live and learn. It will have to look strange for a day because I have to turn in. Thanks for the feedback!

Me too. I tried something different. Check it out. I would like to see if centering it makes a difference or not too. If this doesn`t work then I`m going to give up and put a thread in my forum explaining why people shouldn`t use pictures in their info boxes. Thanks a million in advance!

What size do you use for the banners 125x1500

The banners are supposed to be 125 x 1200.

I just wrote the owners forum hoping something could be changed to make the info boxes more attractive. I think at least a small picture to distiguish each forum would be powerful for capturing attention. I`m not happy about not being able to use a image in such a important place as right before someone begins to read on a forum. If it isn`t possible I`ll adjust. Karen

Candee, yours looks good now. I could resize my window many times and not find a snafu. =)

Karen, yours looks good in any logical situation I can imagine now. It does displace when I make the window narrow, but I don't anticipate any viewers would set their window THAT small!

Thanks Evey! I kind of like the smaller 250 pixel wide image centered. [img] image link [/img] I used the BB code center to get it centered on the page.

It doesn`t leap off page and startle people like the other ones. Can I use this thread in the Cubits Themes and Header Pictures forum for educational reference?

Karen, I followed you over here from the thread you started in the Cubit Owners Forum. I was having the same problem and finally solved my problem by making a template that's approximately 600 pixels wide. I also centered the image ([center ] at the beginning of the link, [/center ] at the end of the link - leave out the space between "center" and the end bracket) and although there's white space on either side it works in both Firefox and IE. I've got info boxes set up for almost all of our Forums now, take a look: http://cubits.org/MidAtlanticMusings/
