It's getting jumpy and crowded on the other page, so let's start this week with a new one.

Happy Ava and Sage this month! They've been together for an entire year.

Soulja's spending the fall in her new pool...

Jackie's roaming from there to elsewhere....

Woofie's waiting for the cool winds of winter....

Ava's watching moose and bear tracks....

And I'm watching for rain.

We came from here: http://cubits.org/bluegardens/thread/view/32549/

She is a darling, but she's going to be something of a challenge. I get the feeling that she hasn't had a really great relationship with people. She doesn't appear to have ever been a house dog.....and she's scared of the sound and movement on the TV. And we think someone has beaten her, she cringes anytime we pick up anything that looks like a stick, poor baby. But she is sooo sweet and gentle and affectionate.

Rescue animals that have been hurt take their own sweet time learning to respond easily to affection. They never forget the hurt, but as your love for her grows, so will her love and trust for you.
She's beautiful.

At least SHE doesn't insist on running through the house tracking mud everywhere! Smiling

Just be glad you don't live next to a salmon stream. Huskies love to roll in rotten salmon carcasses..... Grumbling ....

Big Grin We don't have any huskies here; WE have Alaskan Malamutes! Hilarious!
And a wolf. And a border collie. And a Great Pyr.
All of whom would probably just LOVE to roll in rotten salmon. Hilarious!

hi~catching up is haa-aard to do:)))
High today, as of 4pm, 40* and I see it's snowing on the mountains~so good to be home; but we certainly had a wonderful time w/family down there.
Sage is a cutie, Ava.
woofie~you've a real cutie there, too. Sounds like lots of work ahead, but it'll be well worth it. Our daughter's rescue dog recently passed away at age 13. She had been horribly abused and never really "relaxed", but had a wonderful life w/all the care she was given.
Soulja~ I love the cement work around your pool~it's beautiful.
hi Sharran-beautiful photo of Homer Spit.

Thanks~it's with a sigh of "peace of mind", when I see the mountain peaks along the coast of Alaska from high above and know home really is where the heart is.
It snowed Monday and looks wonderful w/nearly full moon casting shadows.
24* w/highs to 40.
Sunrise at 9:13 this morning.
Taken a few days ago, before snow fell: looking toward our home at the base of Matanuska Peak.
Have a good week -

It's right at 32* here this morning. We've been lucky so far in that the snow line is still at 1,000 feet.

Our open house bird feed is fast approaching. It will be held on Dad's 91st birthday which is next Tuesday, Nov. 2nd. With Lynn's help, we will be busy cleaning the house and rearranging furniture to accommodate 30+ people. In the past I cooked for 40 to 60, but with nearly half of my usual guests having left town or left this earth entirely, I don't expect more than 30 to 40. A sad fact, but such is life.

Here is Dad on his 90th....

Wonderful photo, Ava~the feed sounds great and I know you'll be remembering the good times as you create another wonderful memory.
Counting our blessings as Frank is happy to be shoveling snow this year:))

Jackie, it sure is good to see him out there with that shovel!!

But you have snow already?? Oh No!! Surely not!
Wow.

My houseplants are still outside. Maybe I'll get them in this weekend. Hard to believe it's almost November.
