Good morning. ![]() I agree Sharon, if it ain't broke, etc... I started a thread on sunsets and sunrises as suggested by Sharon, check it out and add yours to it. Should be a colorful thread to brighten our gray days ![]() http://cubits.org/bluegardens/thread/view/77838/ |

Great idea! Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. More ramblings at http://thegatheringplacehome.myfastforum.org/forum54.php |

Great gift, Larry. Robin'll love it. Tim emphasizes the difference between "crossings" and "cruises". We've never been on any cruise, in any weather. Carol and I really like the idea of a Caribbean cruise. Sure all will go well at the doctor's, Sharon. Mine gives me gentle nudges in certain directions. Think an educated patient who balances everything likely knows best. The only problem with crossings/cruises for me is the availability of too much great food. Glad Larry, Wilma and Robin can handle that temptation. Assume overweight is statistically, at least, much more dangerous than underweight. Beautiful pictures, Margaret. Will look for some in St Pete Beach, but I'm definitely a sunset person; sunrises are too early. As per Mary, great idea Sharon. And thanks Margaret for making it a reality. Following the toxic coal-cleaning chemical spill in West Virginia. From my reading the "Freedom" in Freedom Industries refers to freedom from proper regulations. The water company (major company) isn't exactly blameless (water in-take about a mile down stream from the storage tanks!). Read a few towns in Kentucky (and Ohio) could be at risk. Glad you're at the other end of Kentucky, Sharon. |

Yep, Charlie, I'm glad I'm at the other end too because the Ohio is very close by. Maybe the contamination will be all cleaned out by the time it gets here. It's also a problem because the Tennessee and the Cumberland empty into the Ohio just a few miles away, so contamination could come to us from many directions. You are probably right about the weight thing, the main caution to me is that I have no cushion should I get a dreaded illness that robs me of weight. I have nothing to lose actually. So it's that cushion I need. I hope if I ever get it, it goes on my behind. It really hurts when boney behinds sit down on hard seats. I'm excited about Margaret's new thread, I love sunrises and sunsets and even moon pictures. So beautiful. I can change the title if you want me to, Margaret, to include the moon. Whatever you want. |

Praying for all good results on tests Sharon ![]() I just saw there was a school shooting in NM but no word on students. They do have the suspect and parents can pick up their children at a nearby mall ![]() NATIONAL GARDENING ASSOCIATION Purslane & Portulaca ~ Garden Art |

news seemed to say 4 injured --2 critically Having trouble with the sound on the TV & just got a new box in the mail. Came up here to print out the U. Wisconsin roster as the game is televised on ESPN & printer would not work. John came up & fussed with the connection & it works again. No reason to really stopped working. |

Unfortunately, I know Roswell all too well. We used to go there regularly when I was a teenager growing up in the S.NM mountains. Roswell is a nasty little city that has a major gang element to it. I really don't like the city at all and doesn't surprise me at all that there's a shooting there. But, 1 of the persons shot was transported to Lubbock, TX, which means like a 90min helicopter ride there (ABQ would be over 2hours by helicopter). So that means that someone must have been pretty badly hurt that they'd have to transport them that far. Sharon - I'm definitely like you.. if it ain't broke, don't fix. And as long as you feel healthy & nothing feels amiss, I wouldn't worry. Never be afraid of a scar. It just means that you were stronger than something that tried to hurt you. Sharon, change the title, add the moon to the the thread. Thanks Charlie, looking forward to some of your great photos too. So sick of of those nutcases that go around shooting people. ![]() |

I know Roswell from UFology. A happier association. Am sure lots of people know about Area 51, etc.. Of all the things I ever taught I think UFology was the most popular (optics, astronomy, meteorology, photography, psychology, black box technology, etc.). |

Toni, I take hundreds of moon shots, most get deleted because they are not good. My camera is very annoying as it won't focus where I want it to a lot of the time. ![]() |

That's how I know Roswell, too, Charlie, UFOlogy. I studied everything I could get my hands on for the longest time. Still I have no real definitive answers to any of it. I haven't watched or read the news today, maybe that's a good thing, but of course now I'll look for the shooting incident. How sad. Great doctor's report. I was there for 4 hours, poked and prodded and tested in all directions, but a great report. Only one little concern, my b/p was a little high, so we're going to check it again in a month, and I fell 3 pounds short of my 115 pound goal. But 3 pounds isn't that bad. I'll make it. And I'm back on the anti-inflammatory meds that I used to take, but not cortisone. Can't remember now the name of it, but it's like an otc arthritis med I think, just stronger. So all's well. Whew. I don't mind taking one little pill every morning and it should help with my aches and pains that I've been having. |

Margaret, I changed the title of the thread, I just couldn't resist. But if you don't like it, I'll change it again. Must have been the excitement of a good day that made me do it!! |

![]() ![]() Uh oh...better go check and see what you have renamed that thread. ![]() |

Charlie, if you should ever decide to go on a cruise, check out the Crystal Cruise Line. It has only two ships, the Serenity and the Symphony. They get the highest ratings in practically any category you can think of. They are smaller ships, so you're not dealing with hordes of people and they cater to mature adults, which means no screaming kids in the swimming pools or elsewhere on the ship. Everything is absolutely first class. We booked the Serenity for a cruise from Costa Rica through the Panama Canal and on to several Caribbean Islands a number of years ago. The best part is that the Line's prices are not sky high. They cruise most everywhere in the world. We met several folks who have retired on these two ships. This is where they actually live and plan to stay until their health no longer allows them to continue. They say the price they pay is less than a luxury condo or a nursing home. Lovely sunsets, Margaret. I'll try to post some photos soon. Congratulations on the great health report, Sharon! ![]() Cottage-in-the-Meadow Gardens: Come on in and take the tour! Good News Sharon - ![]() 30 degrees this morning and going to 50. NATIONAL GARDENING ASSOCIATION Purslane & Portulaca ~ Garden Art |

34° up to 41° this morning. there was a frost which messed up the car windshield. The cover is still supposed to arrive early Feb. Dying to tell John that it is coming but as it was a Christmas present kept my mouth shut. We used the substitute flash light last night to work with installing new cable box yesterday but had no luck getting it to work. Technician came this morning & found a defective box replacing the old defective box. So he installed a new box & all is well. The don't send a technician automatically any more. You have to pay them of course, but there is no way that we have a little computer to test those things out. Even a younger person couldn't do so without the equipment. |
